BASEBALL CARD LEAGUE
For those of you who grew up with the thrill of opening up packs and collecting cards of your favorite players, I present the rules and information for the second annual LOMG BASEBALL CARD FANTASY LEAGUE:

On March 22nd you will assemble your team from the contents of four (4) packs of baseball cards which will be provided to you by the Commissioner (Ian Shaw)

Your roster will consist of: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, 3OF, UTIL, 7 Pitchers, 2 bench spots.

You will be allowed to trade cards with other owners until 9pm Central Time on Wednesday March 27th (the day before opening day), at which point you must lock in your roster in Fantrax.

There will be no transactions except for on the 1st of each month starting on May 1st, when you will open a single card pack provided by the Commissioner. You may select as many players from that pack to replace your existing players as you want.

Daily lineup changes are allowed, so you may cycle your bench players into and out of your lineup as you wish in-season.

At the end of the season the winner will receive an item of $100 or less of their choice from their chosen team’s store. Alternatively the winner may choose to have their winning roster of cards custom framed for posterity.

Entry fee is $30 paid to Ian Shaw via Apple Cash or Venmo. This cost covers some of the card packs and a portion of the premium league fee

The entry deadline is Monday February 26th. This ensures enough time to get the cards sent out for draft day.

Yes. Due to the nature of the league if different owners open packs and end up with the same players they can both own that player.
Each owner, however, can only have one of each player on their team. No duplicates “in-team”

This league was originally conceived as an in-person draft activity to partially promote people coming together to celebrate the weekend. In the spirit of that, trades must be made with cards physically changing hands to make them effective. If owners wish to mail cards to other owners before the trade deadline is reached in order to complete trades they can, however, they do so at their own cost and expense.

The Ohtani rules are the same for the main league. He must be started each day as either a hitter or pitcher and can not accrue stats for the other when in that role.
